Podcasting |
Podcasting The term podcasting gets its name from the iPod manufactured by Apple Inc. An iPod is a product that allows downloading files in mp3 or AAC. Right now the primary file download use is for music, which makes it a mobile music player, but eventually will include video. The name "podcast" is no longer specifically related to the iPod but to any hardware and software combination that permits downloading. It is similar to RSS which allows subscribers to get a set of feeds. Instead of reading the feeds, you listen to the new content on your iPod. |
