Advermation Advermation (combination of advertisement and information) is an online ad used for advertising that makes it seem like information. It tries to disguise the fact that it's trying to deliver a marketing message. It is usually in a Web page format. Conspiracy theorists, however, offer up examples like this: An ABC television "film critic" delivers a glowing review on the evening news and shows the new release’s promotional trailer.
