Technosexual Technosexual is used to describe an individual in one of two ways: Either a person (usually a male) with a strong aesthetic sense and a love of gadgets. In love with not only himself, but also his urban lifestyle and gadgets; a straight man who is in touch with his feminine side but has fondness for electronics such as cell phones, PDAs, computers, software, and the web. Or it can mean a person with a sexual attraction to machinery, as in the case of robot fetishism. It is a can be a word combining "technophile" and "sexual". Occasionally, this term is used as an insult, implying in a derogatory way that a person would prefer a sex toy to an actual sexual partner. Like metrosexual, companies have tried to promote the idea of the technosexual in order to sell products. Calvin Klein went as far as trademarking the term technosexual in 2005. |
Metrosexual A metrosexual is a trendy straight man that enjoys pampering himself with things like a manicure, facial and massage. He practices good grooming and likes style and fashion. A metrosexual is not gay but may be a modern enlighted, sort of renaissance man. Metrosexuals are normally capable and cool, well educated and stylish. They like fine clothing, fine dining and don't mind doing a little shopping. Metrosexuals are able to find a little more of their feminine side. |
